The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued new regulations which mandate limited flow requirements for all nicotine containing e-juice bottles. This will require many e-juice manufacturers to make changes to their existing products and we are among the many.
These new regulations require all nicotine containing e-juice bottles to be limited to no more than 2 ml of liquid to be released under an inverted squeeze of the estimated strength of a child. Now one would think that wouldn't be a concern considering that the existing regulations require that all e-juices come with a child resistant cap, but apparently the CPSC thinks that parents are irresponsible enough to leave the cap off of the bottle within the reach of a child.
Yesterday, in response to these new regulations, we implemented the first stage of these changes by modifying our Mega Bottle options as well as the Liquid Syndicates Packages. Mega Bottles will still be available in the following formats:
- 480 ml (Four 120 ml Chubby Gorilla Bottles)
- 960 ml (Eight 120 ml Chubby Gorilla Bottles)
The Liquid Syndicates Package options have also been limited to Chubby Gorilla bottles as well. Chubby Gorilla Bottles have passed the testing for the new CPSC regulations.
Update 6/3/19 - We have eliminating the 120 ml & 240 ml Original Bottle option with the empty 30 ml bottle. These options are still be available in the following formats:
- 120 ml - Four 30 ml original bottles
- 240 ml - Eight 30 ml original bottles
We had to implement a slightly increased cost for these options due to increased bottle and labor costs to make these options.
We are still waiting for test results on the original 30 ml bottles. We believe they will pass the CPSC regulatory requirements with the new more rigid clear PET bottles, but we may need to change or eliminate these options as well if they do not pass the testing.
